Making a difference in Jacksonville!
This year, because of COVID-19, we are going to do things a little bit differently. The Community Thanksgiving Meal will be a drive thru event at 3:00 pm on Sunday, November 22 at the Jacksonville High School entrance on Main Street. Volunteers will distribute FREE Thanksgiving meal food boxes. Each box will include a ham or turkey and enough food to feed a family of four a delicious meal with leftovers. Please note: Boxes will be available on a first come, first serve basis.
For the last four years, One City Initiative’s goal has been to provide food for residents of Jacksonville during the Thanksgiving season. For the first three years, we provided a FREE meal for more than 1,000 people through the Community Thanksgiving Meal. Last year, in addition to providing a meal, we also distributed 300 Thanksgiving meal bags.
To provide these FREE meal boxes, we need your help! We are looking for sponsors who will contribute financially to help offset the cost of the FREE food boxes. In return for your monetary donation, we will include your company or organization in our promotional materials before and during the event. To support this year’s Community Thanksgiving Meal, send your check to One City Initiative, 1117 N. James Street, Jacksonville, AR 72076.
