COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING MEaL
Making a difference in Jacksonville!
Making a difference in Jacksonville!
Our Community Thanksgiving Meal is set for 3 pm on Sunday, November 19 at the Middle School at 2300 Linda Lane in Jacksonville . One City Initiative partners and volunteers plan to serve 1,000 hot meals and give away 250 boxes of non-perishable food. New for 2023: We are planning to partner with Unity Health in Jacksonville to provide wellness blood pressure checks.
Boxes are available on a first come, first serve basis. One box per family.
Now in it's seventh year, One City Initiative’s goal has been to provide food for residents of Jacksonville during the Thanksgiving season. For the first three years, we provided a meal for more than 1,000 people through the Community Thanksgiving Meal. In 2019, we also distributed 300 meal bags. In 2020 - 2022, we focused primarily giving away meal boxes during a drive thru event at the Jacksonville High School.
This year, we plan to serve 1,000 hot meal of hamburgers and hotdogs in addition to providing 250 boxes of food ... and offering wellness blood pressure checks! To make this happen, we need your help! We are looking for partners to contribute financially to help offset the cost of this event. In return for your donation, we will include your company/organization in all promotional materials. To support this year’s event, click the Partner button below.
